Oklahoma Hunter Safety Course Requirements

Hunter education rules before you start the Oklahoma practice test.

Oklahoma hunters must complete an approved hunter education course before hunting. Here is what to know before you take the Oklahoma practice test.

Minimum age / certification
No fixed minimum age, but hunters under 10 can take the course without being eligible for certification yet; hunters 30 and under without certification must buy an apprentice license; hunters 31 and older are exempt from the requirement.
Tagging
Deer, elk, and turkey harvests must be checked in through E-Check — online or via the Go Outdoors Oklahoma app — within 24 hours of leaving the field and before the carcass is processed; a field tag must be attached immediately.

Official regulations are set by Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC). Always confirm current rules there before hunting.
