Hunter education rules before you start the Maine practice test.

Maine hunters generally need hunter safety certification before hunting. Here is what to know before you take the Maine practice test.

Minimum age 10 for the hunter safety course; hunters under 16 must complete an in-person field day and be accompanied by a parent/guardian; junior hunters must complete the course by age 16.
Blaze orange

License year

Official regulations are set by Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (MDIFW). Always confirm current rules there before hunting.
