Public hunting isn't really practiced in Washington, DC. No DC agency issues hunting licenses or runs a hunter education program — the DC Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) manages fishing, not hunting, and deer management in Rock Creek Park is handled by a federal National Park Service sharpshooter program, not public hunting. If you're looking to get certified, you'll need a program from a neighboring state.
We don't have District of Columbia-specific rules published yet, but you can still take the national practice test below — it covers the same IHEA-USA standards used by every state.
Official regulations are set by DC Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) — wildlife-adjacent, does not manage hunting. Always confirm current rules there before hunting.
(District of Columbia-specific questions are coming soon — this test currently covers the national standards.)
